Council Meeting - 8/3/2020

​The Walcott City Council Meeting was held August 3, 2020 at 7:30 pm at the Walcott Fire Hall.
In attendance were Mayor Vining and council members Bennes, Brown, Rhodenbaugh, and Oestreich.
July Minutes were read and approved by Brown, 2nd by Bennes. All approved, motion carried.
After Vining contacted all write-in candidates, Derek Rhodenbaugh has accepted the vacant council position.
Discussion was held regarding the temporary sewer pump control panel. Vining will be contacting ND Sewage Pump regarding rental of the temporary pump.
Vining provided an update on the purchase of the church property. The attorney is currently working on the paperwork and will notify the council once it is ready for signatures.
Roads were graded and then dust treated 2 weeks ago. Mosquito spraying will continue as weather conditions allow.
Some new-style water meters have been purchased for residents in town. Karen from Ferguson provided a project estimate for replacing all meters with the new-style meters, allowing for remote-read capabilities. Vining will bring the estimate to the next meeting for council review.
Issues continue with the water pumping station. Sweeny’s has been out to fix recently, however the current setup is not working properly with any disruption of electricity to the pumping station. Further discussion will take place at future meetings.
Tires approved at the last meeting have been purchased and placed on the tractor.
Water bills were discussed.
