Council Meeting - 3/4/19

​The Walcott City Council Meeting was held March 4, 2019 at 7:30 pm at the Walcott Fire Hall.
In attendance were Mayor Vining, council members Bennes, Brown, Rhodenbaugh, Oestreich. Also in attendance was Matt Hahn.
February Minutes were read and approved by Rhodenbaugh, 2nd by Bennes. All approved, motion carried.
Discussion was held regarding new sewer rates. Current rates are well below average rates across other cities. Bennes motioned to set a maximum rate of $25/month with a final rate decision to be made later. Rhodenbaugh 2nd. All approved, motion carried.
Discussion was held on appointing a Bond Counsel. Bennes motioned to appoint Ohnstad Twichell as the City Bond Counsel. Rhodenbaugh 2nd. All approved, motion carried.
Brown motioned for the City Council to declare a flood emergency, Rhodenbaugh 2nd. All approved, motion carried.  The City Council declares a flood emergency. This includes starting the process of removing snow from local ditches, along with any further flood related needs that will arise.
Vining provided an update on meeting with Walcott Church Council.
Matt Hahn with Leonard Firefighters discussed the local gaming permit.
Water bills were discussed.
Next Meeting April 1, 2019.
Oestreich motioned to adjourn, Brown 2nd. All Approved, motion carried.
