Tax Equalization Meeting - 4/9/2020

​The Walcott City Council Tax Equalization Meeting was held April 9 at 7:00 pm via conference call as posted on the Walcott Fire Hall door.
In attendance were Mayor Vining, council members Brown, Bennes, Oestreich, and Rhodenbaugh. Also in attendance was Wendy Matejcek with the Assessor’s Office.
Wendy presented the Assessor’s Office Tax Equalization Hearing information. Notices were sent to residents whose property value increase was at least 10% and $3,000 of last year’s value.
Rhodenbaugh motioned to accept the tax assessment, Oestreich 2nd, all approved, motion carried.
Meeting was adjourned.

Council Meeting - 4/6/2020

​The Walcott City Council Meeting was held April 6, 2020 at 7:30 pm via Zoom, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, as posted on the Fire Hall door.
In attendance were Mayor Vining and council members Bennes, Brown, Rhodenbaugh, and Oestreich.
March Minutes were read and approved by Rhodenbaugh, 2nd by Bennes. All approved, motion carried.
Vining reported that internet is now available in the fire hall and can be used for City Council and Auditor duties.
Discussion was held regarding the purchase of the Church property. Size of property needed to be purchased is dependent on locating actual lot lines. Oestreich motioned to spend up to $12,000 to purchase the necessary land to proceed with the New Master Lift Station project, 2nd by Rhodenbaugh.  All approved, motion carried.
Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, Spring Clean-up will be moved to a later date and will be announced once determined.
Elections will be held Tuesday, June 9th. The Richland County Auditor’s Office announced there will be no physical location polling places open for the 2020 June Primary. Richland County will be mailing out further information regarding the voting process.
Water bills were discussed.
Next Meeting May 4, 2020.
Oestreich motioned to adjourn, Bennes 2nd. All Approved, motion carried.
